I selected these 12 images of work I have created myself during my time at Todmorden High School Sixth Form. I chose my most creative images as I feel they best represent me as a person as well as showing my skills and abilities. Throughout my years at sixth form I have created various outcomes such as a full tea set and a character to represent child abuse. I have also had experience with working with clients as I have just redesigned the Calderdale Council Children and Young Peoples Brochure for my current graphics project. I see myself as a creative person and love the idea of being able to get a message across to people through visual imagery. I see myself as a hard, dedicated worker and through graphic design I am really able to put my heart into my projects as well as my head. I have the skills and ability to think of my own ideas and go down my own paths and can work from a basic brief compared to following a project with set tasks.
I’ve always wanted to do something involving graphic design and currently like the idea of designing shop windows and I am hoping this course will help me decide exactly what I want to do. I think this course would be well suited to me as I feel graphic design represents me as a person. I am able to express things through graphic design that I can’t express any other way. I am really looking forward to developing a professional portfolio in year 3 to help progress me onto my future career path.
